Fictional Title Sequence concept

This title sequence was completed as an assessment while studying at the University of Johannesburg. All assets were self generated.

The sequence is for a survival movie in the vein of Cast Away. It follows a man whose plane is struck by lightning, plunging him into an unfamiliar ocean and forcing him to survive on a nearby Island.

Throughout the sequence, I tried to create a sense of eerie seclusion through lighting, colour, and composition, including only elements that were necessary, and removing those which might provide a sense of familiarity, such as the sky. The colour choice also allowed for the text to stand in high contrast to the background, making it legible as well as striking and distinct.

The models and environment were modelled and rendered using Blender. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk was chosen in particular, as there were 1600 crashes between 1982 and 1988.
